Thorbjørn Olesen became the third consecutive Team TaylorMade athlete to win on the DP World Tour to start 2024 with his Qi10 LS 10.5° driver at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. Olesen joins Tommy Fleetwood (Qi10 LS) and Rory McIlroy (Qi10) as the three winners so far in 2024 on the DP World Tour.
The win marks Thorbjørn’s eighth on the DP World Tour and his third consecutive season with a win. An astonishing seven of those eight wins have come while he has held the 54-hole lead.
After an opening 69 on Thursday, Olesen fired a course record equalling 10-under second round 62 and 9-under third round 63 before finishing with a Sunday 67 to claim a comfortable six-shot victory. Thorbjørn made 25 birdies and one eagle over his final 54 holes.

Thorbjørn first tested the Qi10 LS back in November before the Race to Dubai finals with our TaylorMade Tour Reps. He tested both a 9.0° head clicked on one notch higher and 10.5° head on standard upright.
After doing some work with both heads on his own in the offseason, Thorbjørn and our reps got back to work before the opening event of the DP World Tour Season to dial in the 10.5° head he felt most comfortable with. Thorbjørn and the team tested multiple different weights and weight settings on the adjustable sliding weight on the sole of the Qi10 LS to fine tune optimal launch and spin conditions.
The final weight setting ended up in the draw position with the loft sleeve at the standard upright position. The combination of the 10.5° LS head and the high launch and low spin of his TP5x golf ball produced consistent ball speeds around 175 MPH. During that same testing session, the Qi10 3-wood and 5-wood went straight into the bag as well.
The fits of all three clubs at the Dubai Invitational turned out to be crucial in victory on Sunday. On the eighth hole, Thorbjørn found the fairway with a 351-yard drive using his Qi10 LS driver, and hit his Qi10 5-wood to 6 feet making eagle for a three-shot swing to extend his lead.
