This week’s #TeamTaylorMadeCA spotlights Lindsay Knowlton, founder of Iron Lady Golf.
The word community is often misused and bandied about. It’s pretty much become a blanket statement for anytime a group of people get together in real life or on social media.
But this isn’t the case when it comes to Toronto’s Lindsay Knowlton Iron Lady Golf.
“Iron Lady Golf is an inclusive community that helps women learn to play golf comfortably, confidently and it’s been incredible watching many of these women over the past eight years build friendships, confidence and some better golf games along the way,” Knowlton says. “Since the very start it’s been my goal and mission to bring more women into the game and be that entry point for them into a community where they can stay, learn and have fun.”
Launched nearly a decade ago, Iron Lady Golf now has a variety of programs—group and corporate clinics; leagues; on-course lessons; private lessons; and travel retreats—built to suit various levels of golfers.
A former collegiate standout and Team Canada member, Knowlton shifted gears from player to coach when she realized her true passion in golf was to help people.
“After playing a lot of golf over the years, I knew that I wanted to give back to the game in a different way,” Knowlton says. “So, as a coach, that’s the most important thing I can do in golf because I get to understand someone's reason for learning and then how I can help them get there in easiest, possible way.”
Being part of the #TeamTaylorMadeCA community for the past three years has also been helpful to both her as a coach and her students.
“Being part of #TeamTaylorMadeCA has been great in terms of connecting with other like-minded professionals and really getting advice and support from them,” Knowlton admits. “As a brand, TaylorMade has not only supported me as the player and coach but has also really helped my community of women learn and play with the best clubs as well.”
Knowlton features TaylorMade equipment throughout her bag and says the new SIM driver has been an amazing addition to her set in 2020.
“My new SIM Max driver is amazing,” she gushes. “I still can’t believe it, but I’m hitting it 10-yards farther than my previous driver and it’s going straighter too.”

When asked about what advice she has for someone who is new to the game of golf, Knowlton has a simple answer: community.
“When you’re first breaking into golf, the key is to find a community,” Knowlton says. “Golf is way more fun if you have people to learn and play with and that’s the key for enjoyment.”
Knowlton is a member of the TaylorMade Golf Canada Advisory Council, which is our company’s premiere staff professional group. For more information on Knowlton and Iron Lady Golf, visit www.ironladygolf.com
