Behind the Design | Women's Professional Championship Staff Bag & Headcovers
Major Championship golf returns to the greater Seattle area with the 2024 Women’s Professional Championship. Let's take a deep dive into the gear Nelly Korda, Brooke Henderson, Charley Hull and Team TaylorMade will be carrying down the fairways of Sahalee Country Club.
Team TaylorMade athletes will be repping staff bags that commemorate the Pacific Northwest and celebrate the traditions of this year’s venue and the greater Seattle area. An array of dark and light blues, red, and streaks of silver are representative of one of Seattle’s favorite sports teams, while fir trees and Bigfoot round the Pacific Northwest theme.
The driver headcover is emblazoned with a night sky amongst evergreen trees as Bigfoot stands guard with a club in hand in the foreground.
The fairway and hybrid headcovers feature dark blue wave patterns that are interspersed with tentacles and light blue contour lines marking Seattle’s presence as one of the West Coast’s most significant maritime ports.
The mallet putter headcover continues with many of the same themes as found on the staff bag, while the blade putter headcover remains consistent and features a silver anchor on the top of a dark blue background.
If you go searching for them, there are a few hidden callouts that are a tip of the cap to Seattle and Sahalee Country Club. Trying to hide on the bottom of the bag above the collar is bigfoot, holding an iron and lurking throughout the Seattle forest. On the base collar itself, it reads "High Heavenly Ground" which is the Chinookan translation of Sahalee.
On the upper collar of the bag, Seattle's nickname the "Emerald City" is elegantly scripted. Coffee lovers rejoice as the bag wouldn't be complete without a cup of coffee seen on the valuables pouch.
