Team TaylorMade Heads into the FedEx Cup Playoffs In Prime Position
The regular season has wrapped up and the Top-125 golfers in the world head into the playoffs to try and capture the elusive $10m dollar check and stamp their name on the FedEx Cup trophy.
Here’s a look at where Team TaylorMade stands heading into the playoffs:
World No. 1 enters the FedExCup ranked 4th and has his sights set on finishing his season the way it started. DJ came out firing right out of the gates, collecting back-to-back-to-back victories and vaulting to No. 1 in the world. He collected back-to-back WGC titles and became the first golfer in the history of the game to win the “WGC Grand Slam.”

- He also tops the charts in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green this season.
Some may say McIlroy has had an off year, but if recent history is any indication, Rors can get hot at any moment and take the TOUR by storm. Rory is the defending FedExCup Champion and currently sits in 44th place in the standings. He’ll look to vault up the leaderboard and the overall standings as they tee it up at the first stop of the playoffs at Glen Oaks Golf Club.
Sergio kicked off majors season by achieving his life-long goal of becoming a major champion. He took down fellow TaylorMade staffer Justin Rose in a historic battle at the Masters in April. On top of his major victory, Sergio has had a very consistent season and currently sits 4th in scoring average at 69.4 strokes per round. El Nino will look to finish his 2017 season off right and add some hardware to go with his Green Jacket.
In just his 2nd start of 2017, Jon Rahm steamrolled into the winner’s circle after burying a 50-foot eagle putt on 18 at Torrey Pines to claim his first victory at the young age of 22. Rahm has been Mr. Consistency in 2017, racking up a total of seven Top-10s, including two 2nd place finishes, and one 3rd place finish. Rahm kept his momentum rolling overseas and won the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open by lapping the field and winning by six shots. The young gun is primed to make a move in the playoffs—he currently sits in 6thplace as he looks to cap off his maiden season on TOUR.
Rosey almost claimed the 2nd leg of the career Grand Slam at Augusta National had it not been for fellow TaylorMade Staffer Sergio Garcia. Rose has racked up 4 Top-10s in 2017 and sits in 32nd position in the FedExCup. Known as one of the best ball-strikers on TOUR, Rose looks to gain some momentum in New York and make a deep playoff run.
Coming off a T9 finish at the PGA Championship, Day’s game is trending in the right direction to make a push in the playoffs. Jason has racked up three Top-10s in 2017 and sits 49th in the FedExCup standings. If he heats up at The Northern Trust this week, watch out because he is also a former champion at Conway Farms, the site of the BMW Championship later this September.
